Tamara attended Alice Smith International School in Kuala Lumpur and Wycombe Abbey School before obtaining her MEng degree in Materials Science from Oxford University. She was awarded an academic scholarship and several college prizes throughout her time at Trinity College, Oxford. Tamara then spent her 4th year at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US doing research on “Biodegradable Bone Screws”.
Following this, she joined Shell and worked for 9 years in various roles starting out as a Materials Engineer in The Netherlands followed by other more commercial roles in Business Analytics, Sales and Marketing. In 2015, Tamara left Shell to pursue her desire of helping more students from Malaysia reach their dream university and therefore started up PrepWorks.
Since then, PrepWorks has gotten 80% of their boarding school candidates into their top choices (some on scholarship and unconditional offers) and 67% of their university candidates into Oxford or Cambridge University. She has also personally coached over 40+ students in passing their interviews as well as tutored Critical Thinking, English, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Maths for the past 4 years.
